BOSTON (CBS) — Police say two fast-food workers were tied up during an armed robbery at a McDonald’s near Boston Common early Thursday morning.
The clerks at the Tremont Street restaurant were closing up around midnight as two men entered. Soon, the employees were tied up and the safe was emptied, police said.
Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said the men didn’t get very far when a police officer arrived on the scene.
“He looked inside to see the employees tied up,” Evans told WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Mark Katic. “The officer went to the rear of the building and at that time observed two individuals exiting the building with large bags of money.”
The officer also recovered a sawed-off shotgun and a pistol.
Andre Nesbeth, 26, and 27-year-old Mason McKoy, both of Dorchester, were expected to be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court Thursday.
The pair is also suspected in a similar robbery at the same McDonald’s on Oct. 4.
